Is this snip from the start of the file in a hex editor? 55AA is the signature of a big endian MBR (though the signature shouldn't be at the start). Other than that its quite likely you cannot answer your question -- esp if the data is encrypted and doesn't have some header code indicating the encryption type. – dr jimbob Apr 26 '12 at 2:40

Data encrypted with a modern cipher is indecipherable from noise.

Oh good god, mount it and get a virus. WTH are you on crack? This is a part of a file that runs a game system. The reason I asked is every " game" starts out with 55 AA in the first part of the file, thinking that may give a hint as to what encryption was used. Yes they are Encrypted. I know 100% that they are. But as someone said not likely to be able to help, so, I thank you all and I will move on. – Darren Apr 29 '12 at 15:14
