Inspired by this question I have been looking for alternatives to my ISP's DNS servers. OpenDNS is mentioned quite a bit (as well as Google's DNS, which being Google I have an issue trusting). I have also come across Dyn's Internet Guide, but I can't find much information on their service. Is OpenDNS safer than Dyn's Internet Guide with respect to the company behind the service and the service itself? |

Why don't you use just root servers in your DNS? Google is stopping some of its services from time to time, so you would maybe be force to reconfigure your DNS in the future. Same can be applied to OpenDNS. I don't get 'safer' part. DNS is DNS, but OpenDNS modifies some DNS answers, so do you think this makes things safer? Trust open solutions, do not get stuck with a provider. |
