IT Security Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for IT security professionals. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I have an input software. The data is stored in a file in C drive. The file is password protected. When I put in the password it asks whether I want to enable a content. I say yes. It says something about VBA macros. I say yes again. It gives me the data in a different format. Now because of the input software I know that Sony Ericsson-D770i looks like oiznhfNYzRZbdic4CAk9s77sphDD67S3lE6XwY4CFqc= Please help in getting the data in the correct format.

Welcome to IT Security. Unfortunately, your question is rather vaguely defined, and doesn't seem to be a security question. The data you provided isn't encrypted, it's just encoded in base64. It's impossible to know what the resulting data means without digging into the software. As such, this question doesn't meet the StackExchange quality standards (see the FAQ) and will likely be closed. – Polynomial Oct 2 '12 at 8:14
These are 32 bytes encoded in base64. Beyond that, we can't tell. Reverse engineering an encryption algorithm takes a lot more information (we'd have to have at least the password, the software, the data… not things that you'd want to post in public). – Gilles Oct 2 '12 at 11:59
