I'm happily using off-the-record messaging now, but I'd enjoy exploring more traffic analysis resistant options? It appears the most visible ones like Tor chat are rather stagnant, or at least don't run under Mac OS X. Are there any traffic analysis resistant instant messaging programs being actively maintained?

Please read the faq. StackExchange is not a place for discussions or opinion-baseed topics. "You should only ask practical, answerable questions based on actual problems that you face. Chatty, open-ended questions diminish the usefulness of our site and push other questions off the front page." ... "If your motivation for asking the question is “I would like to participate in a discussion about ______”, then you should not be asking here." –  Iszi Dec 21 '11 at 7:18

Now this looks like a duplicate of something I think I asked early on in the beta. Let me look... Ah, here we are: security.stackexchange.com/questions/1634/… –  Iszi Dec 22 '11 at 22:16

You are incorrect. You asked about encrypting message contents. I'm asking about defeating traffic analysis. OtR does nothing against traffic analysis. Tor chat does, but Tor chat isn't being actively developed. I'm asking what others exist. Just fyi, this was obviously never an "opinion" question, I just chose my word poorly. –  Jeff Burdges Dec 22 '11 at 23:51
