I am a student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison studying Computer Sciences. I have worked at several startup companies doing Linux system administration and back end server development as well as front end app development (iOS and Android). My main interests are socket programming and Information Security. I am also very interested in cryptography and kernel development.

You might want to shutdown network connections and examine log files to try to find the breach. It is possible that the attackers have installed network backdoors on your systems.

I think this is a little overkill. If he has domain names pointing to his server, all of those connections will be broken if he requests an IP change.

I tried both of those, the system cant find init.d or xinit.d, i also tried doing ps telnetd, which gave me the PID, then i tried kill (PID). I also tried telnetd stop, which gets hung up and waits forever. Any other ideas?

@drjimbob thanks for the info, i did click on one of the links when i thought it was a legitimate email and it downloaded a program to my downloads folder and safari complained and told me not to run it. It was my first warning sign and i deleted it. I don't think it did anything to my system or installed any viruses.
