comment Is it possible to modify your user agent http header for malicious use?
I find that some news sites, and Quora especially, are a lot less pushy about forcing me to sign up when I am Googlebot. I use user agent switcher to toggle my UA between some common values, like Googlebot, the FB crawler, etc. It's kind of funny, and a little sad, that I have to impersonate a bot to get decent service.

comment Can my mouse have virus and infect other machines?
It could move itself -10000,-10000 and then assume that it is at 0,0, and assume that the monitor is 1920x1080. That would often work.

In fact, you could easily weaponize this mouse to do just that, and then leave it for someone to find at work/school.

Hey, that mouse has a Marco function! I wonder if that could be exploited in a similar way that a macro function could be exploited? Maybe it could click at the expected coordinates of a Windows start menu, hover around to get to a CMD prompt, and then right-click paste something interesting?

comment What can a web application developer do to protect user information from powerful adversaries like the NSA or China
That summary was from 2009, but the jury is still out. Lockheed Martin bought one for U. of Southern California and asked them to figure out if it is legit, according to Ars Technica

I suppose you're right. If my tinkering broke an existing system that I relied on, I wouldn't even know how to test for that. It's just too bad that groups like the EFF doesn't get massive funding from the adversaries of these intelligence agencies.

comment Client-side encryption, but cloud service can still decrypt data in the event of a death? Is this possible?
That picture is so sad. I will remember to tell my mother that I love her next time I see her.
