Why do we even use passwords / passphrases next to biometrics? Well, I could counter your statement (retina and medical conditions) with - passwords and Alzheimer. IMHO, the vast majority of people could use biometrics without any problem at all. |

Is it still unsafe to email credit card number nowadays? Send CCN by e-mail and CCV by SMS or vice versa? Well, if encryption is no-go. |

Literature about IT security from a hardware standpoint Did you read it? I got that impression by looking at table of context. I'm definitely going to buy it (40$ for over 1000 pages book), just not sure is this what I'm looking for. |

Literature about IT security from a hardware standpoint Well, chapters 3 (Protocols) and 4 (Access Control) sound interesting but the book itself seems to be written for managers, not for IT (security) professionals. |

How would you store a 4 digit pin code securely in the database? Even if input device allows one try per minute (which is pretty unacceptable and frustrating for end user), attacker would only need one week to try all combinations. Isn't that little bit too weak protection? |

Password entropy in layman's terms Well, when you want to explain some complex concept to a kid, you have to use something (s)he is familiar with. At that time, I couldn't think of any better example. But anyway, it was that or Shannon... I took my chances with cleaning the room. |
