Real-time Operation systems and attacks Not directly related to your question, but one more issue is that many of these installations have relatively poor security measures - like default passwords, etc. and rely mainly one physical disconnection from other networks or security by obscurity (another explanation is that they are of the 'radar' of security personnel who traditionally target conventional IT systems) |

Is disabling auto-run enough to protect against malicious code from removable media automatically infecting a machine? Is there a method to prevent explorer from reading icons, thumbnails, etc.? |

Is disabling auto-run enough to protect against malicious code from removable media automatically infecting a machine? Nice one!, although in my specific case it\s not a major issue as users have limited permissions |

Is disabling auto-run enough to protect against malicious code from removable media automatically infecting a machine? Probably windows 7 - but if there's a solution that is specific to another windows version it's also relevant |
