Thanks for the answer @jens-erat, but the blockhash is for an entire block of transactions. The block can be somewhat "guaranteed" by proof of work to have been mined on the same date the PGP key was created. I don't think it has anything to do with a particular bitcoin address, but was just a time-stamping mechanism.

I added more info about bitcoin block hash and the fact that it is on the same date as the key was created. Also saw that @jens-erat signed this particular key... Hmm... ;-)

Are you sure the "data-signing public key which gets copied in the email"? The signature is not the same thing as the public key itself.
