Software engineer. I write telecoms software in C by day, write Python and hack around with shell scripts when nobody's looking, and still play with Haskell by night.

I take LARP too seriously, have been an Android fanboy since my Dev Phone 1, and still use IRC.

Next question?

comment Apparently PayPal-affiliated site with very suspect security
I very much doubt that PayPal will be paying the full $3000 off-the-shelf price for that certificate. They'll get discounts because they buy lots, and discounts because they have a lot more clout to negotiate. And even if they did, I wouldn't assume PayPal think $3000 is a significant amount of money.

comment How can I identify my phone call is being tracked or tapped?
@kunle: source? From what I know about smartphones, that seems exceedingly dubious.

comment Does naming sensitive things discreetly provide protection?
+1 for noting the risk of confused developers further down the line misunderstanding the need to handle security sensibly.

"Never"? Not even if I've legitimately forgotten my password, and was expecting the reset email?
