comment Why should I care if a site uses encryption or not if I'm not exchanging any sensitive data?
@Humdinger well not all data is public, there are private accounts and direct messages. If private accounts tweets weren't encrypted during transmission to twitter than people could read everything x user is tweeting despite it not being a public account.

comment Should we protect web application source code from being stolen by web hosts through obfuscation?
This sounds very much like "I can't tell you my idea but it's awesome - will you write an app for me?" The idea that a host would look at your website and go "let's steal that amazing idea & the code - close down this hosting business and fight a lawsuit" is laughable.

comment Is it acceptable that a skilled professional pentester deletes or modifies sensitive data in production unintentionally during a pentest?
Is it professional that your company hasn't cloned the systems you plan to pen test - if not only for the fact they could affect your system, but also where do you stage your development changes?

comment How would one crack a weak but unknown encryption protocol?
"How would I crack it? I wouldn't even know where to begin." You're assuming there that the person attempting to crack it is as poorly versed in crypto cracking as you or I.
