2 factor authentication - cost effective solution for a web startup It's a good point - I can appreciate that for certain applications they may have a good application. I'm just wary because I've seen an unjustified amount of faith put into biometrics as a token, where people think they solve all security problems. |

2 factor authentication - cost effective solution for a web startup My understanding of biometrics is that they make a very poor security token, as they're not secret and easy to replicate? |

What is your way to create good passwords that can actually be remembered? I've not done the maths, but I would imagine if you include a good smattering of punctation marks, numbers and non-regular words, the combination count is quite high. Would be interesting to see someone sit down and work it out properly though (I'm not mathsy enough...) |

What are good ways to educate about IT security in a company? Isn't it the case that the likelihood is addressed by the expected frequency of occurrence? Likelihood is meaningless without a timeframe (The likelihood of me going home in the next 6 hours is high, but the likelihood of me going home in the next 2 minutes is low) - in my experience the business equates 'likelihood' with 'how often is this going to happen this year'. |

What policies maximize employee buy-in to security? I never said that the only incentive should be punishment, my point is that there's no point having a policy if you're not going to enforce it properly. That only breeds a false sense of security, because people will circumvent a policy they know no-one cares about. |
