How is an ATM secure? Your observation is certainly true of chip-in-pin technology. The technology is incredably flawed and doesn't properly authenticate but it protects credit card institutions from paying out if your card was "chip-in-pin verified" as they are able to say that you were liable for the pin and that it was entirely your fault that the card was used after it was lost. |
