If you are using ECB you already have an issue. ECB should be avoided as an AES mode as similar blocks will result in the same cipher text.

Normally ips are put between each network zone and not only the DMZ. Amazon and azure are different in the way they can offer you more robustness and normally also cheaper rates. Encryption is a good thing, but in general you want to avoid encryption when it comes into a waf or ips. Anomaly detection is still a must, encryption is a preventive control, an ids is a detective control. You want several controls.

@HighCommander4 not all areas have 3G or 4G coverage, so disable other protocols and you can't call anymore.
