How do I know a piece of software only does what the author claims? This concern is one of the reasons some people choose Open Source Software. If anyone can read the source code, you have a much better chance of knowing if the program does anything untoward. |

Risks of giving developers admin rights to their own PCs @DanNeely: If you can attach a debugger to a process you don't own, you can make that process do anything you want. So debugging rights = admin. |
