Why can't you change the firmware? Not even update the firmware to the latest version from TP-Link?

comment Is it safe to give my PayPal email and Home Address to a stranger?
I had something similar happen on CL. They offered to buy it sight unseen and wanted my address and PayPal info so they could send movers over to get the stuff. Set off warning bells in my head so I ignored them. Never heard from them again

comment Can the payer of my cell bill listen to my calls?
It depends... If this someone else is an employer then maybe if they can install certain software on your phone. If you are concerned about it then don't get a smart phone till you can afford to pay for it yourself.

comment New Gmail login system—going against conventional wisdom?
I rather return a message saying "username or password is incorrect" that way a person doesn't know which one is bad. Telling them a username is bad does give one more piece of information

comment Technology that can survive a “Rubber-Hose attack”
Someone or someone's has the capability to de-crypt the files. All depends on how many people a person is willing to torture and how willing they are to stand up to the torture.

comment Can someone steal money from my bank account if they know my IBAN and personal details?
Write a check and they have your account number and routing number, seems it would be that much easier to get money out of an account.
