I've been a developer for nearly 30 years in one form or another. I learnt Pascal at University and my first job was programming in Fortran 66. I've since moved to C# & .NET via Ada, C and C++.
Over the years I've used most operating systems (apart from MacOS), starting with PR1MOS and then moving onto various flavours of Unix. I'm now exclusively on Windows, but thinking of getting into iPhone/iPod touch/iPad development (if only I could afford a MacBook Pro!).
One of these days I'm going to get round to these books on my Amazon Wish List

What is the impetus for major sites being HTTPS-exclusive now? Even Wikipedia is going that way - meta.stackoverflow.com/questions/148273/… |

Is client side encryption really better than server side? @AndreyBotalov - the reason to do client side encryption is to secure the data. If you send it in plain text it can be read if the packets are intercepted. |
