How to enforce NTFS permission compliance? Share permissions are problematic if someone gets direct access to the server. The same applies to malware. Thanks for SetACL but how can I link it to the ADS groups? |

How to enforce NTFS permission compliance? @EricG I do not understand your comment. I did not say anything about inheritance and I am wondering why you ask for it. I am asking about a way to synchronize ADS groups and folder permissions. I define a mapping between them and the software must enforce the mapping. I want to centralize the permission management based on business roles implemented as ADS groups. The problem is that the ADS functionality ends by putting persons in groups. I need to extend the management to the actual file system permissions. |

Securing a LAN without Physical Security The next step would be layer 2 authentication using any 802.1x product. |

What alternatives are there when SSH is being actively filtered? @CodeInChaos: maybe it is visible, but nobody look at. |

What alternatives are there when SSH is being actively filtered? Using port 443 for SSH works on most firewalls. +1 for this. But it requires an additional tool for the SSH connect command. See here for details: daniel.haxx.se/docs/sshproxy.html |

What alternatives are there when SSH is being actively filtered? It is unlikely that port 992 is fully open if port 22 is closed. |

Sniffing on VPN configuration Something that is important is not necessarily private. Something that is important should be signed. |
