comment How effective is iPhone 3GS and 4 device-at-rest encryption?
I am trying to follow the exact steps you mentioned. So far, I have jailbreaked my iOphone with greenpois0n. The SSH client on windows is WinSCP and on the Iphone i tried BigBossPrefs. Unfortunately the iPhone BigBrossPrefs fails to start! so i am unable to connect to the iOS. My intention is to simulate that my mobile is lost (I have added PIN on purpose) and try to see what data the attacker can have access to. Any help on this would be great.

comment How does Diaspora work?
@Tim, out of curiosity, have you tried posting to the guys building the Diaspora project your questions? I honestly fear that this Diaspora project is still not known enough to be answered by other than the founders!

comment How to persuade average people that security matters?
@all - I think that you need to scare the management layer, TYPICALLY give them the SONY example, give them the TOYOTA example... and then you ensure yourself many new MANDATORY regulations that obliges the end-users to listen and take the time to prioritize security and get educated about security

This is definitely not wrong, first I have clearly mentioned "Access control methods address mainly the confidentiality requirement" second, kindly check this en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biba_Model BIBA model is an Integrity preserving model that uses ACCESS CONTROL RULES! and is not an access control model. In anyhow, I would be glad if you would recommend an access control model to preserve Integrity, I would simply tell you THIS IS NOT a best practice.
