Can exploit vulnerability if program started with gdb, but segfaults if started without gdb Glad you got there in the end, this is something I would like to read into a little more, as I have always been able to get around it quickly, I have never bothered looking into it. Perhaps one of the gurus such as @ThomasPornin could shed some light on debugger stack-addresses. |

What is zero day? If I found a new SQLi in a popular framework such as WordPress, I would refer to that as a 0day. But for some reason an SQLi in a one-off platform (such as a server-side API application) would not count in my mind, odd. |

Is it safe to suspend my computer if I'm using encrypted hard drive? If you can access your files without typing in your encryption key, so can I. |

Giving privilege with validity in Windows 7 You might find better luck asking this on a Microsoft-user type forum, or just googling for tools. I would also point out that these types of measures are mostly ineffective against users with any tech-savvy. As usual, in IT security if your 'users' are your enemy, you're already in trouble -> parenting.stackexchange.com |

How does Binding Images with Malicious Patches happen? @void_in that just isn't correct I'm afraid, file exploits have been around for years and can exist in any file type, you just need a vulnerable reader. JPGs might be simple in comparison to the ever-exploited PDFs but the theory is much the same. |

Parameters in output of password hashing function While it might be intuitive that less information is more secure, these parameters have nothing to do with the security of the encryption and hiding them will only serve to give a false sense of protection, or worse divert attention away from hiding the important stuff - the passwords/keys. |
