May 10, 2018 at 12:28 | comment | added | reed | Good point when you say that the latest versions might not be more secure because by introducing new functionalities they may also introduce new vulnerabilities, however those would be unknown (to everyone) vulnerabilities that hopefully would be patched as soon as they are discovered (like any other vulnerability in the rest of the code). So I'm not sure there is a clear winner between "distro-patched old versions" and "latest official versions". | |
