This answer would be better if it explained that "the Debian openssh-client package sets several options as standard in /etc/ssh/ssh_config which are not the default" including HashKnownHosts yes .

Furthermore, your example would be exactly the same, regardless if it is fingerprints or public keys in the known_hosts file. | |
