What steps should I take to have a fully functional Twitter account (e.g. with a profile picture) while being 100% sure that nobody can find out my identity without a subpoena?

  • With "no one", do you include Twitter themself? Your ISP? – Anders Dec 15 '16 at 16:45
  • How about having the twitter account and then never publish anything on it? Because the more you publish the more a pattern can be established about what you say, when and how do you say it, where do you connect from .... And the more is known about this the less anonymous you get. – Steffen Ullrich Dec 15 '16 at 16:46
  • "without a subpoena" implies you are not worried about government intervention? Then all you need is the account with a name that isn't related to you. The image can be anything, doesn't have to be a picture of someone. And, as Steffen says, you then have to be real careful what you post. – Julian Knight Dec 15 '16 at 19:31
  • Basically, I mean that other Twitter users can't identify me by knowing where I connect from or who the creator of my profile picture was, among other things. – Hair Cutter Dec 16 '16 at 8:59
  • You definitely shouldn't use a picture of yourself, as I can use google image search,or etc, and possible find out who you are. – cybernard Dec 26 '16 at 17:04
