Is there a way to prevent nmap os fingerprint on Azure Webapps? I used nmap and got report:

OS Detection Consolidation and Reporting

OS: Windows CPE: CPE: cpe:/o:microsoft:windows Found by NVT: (Nmap OS Identification (NASL wrapper)) Concluded from Nmap TCP/IP fingerprinting: OS: W indows; CPE: cpe:/o:microsoft:windows

  • Why would you want to do this? Also, have you looked at how nmap performs fingerprinting? The typical answer to your question is to run the traffic through another OS (router) – schroeder Aug 24 '17 at 17:00
  • would that be possible with Microsoft Azure? I am not sure if they provide this service? – Amel Salibasic Aug 25 '17 at 8:27
