I want to know if there is a possibility to use browsers' Tabs and Windows as self-contained Docker images where we can benefit from more security by separating the sessions (some web browsers extensions already use this concept of separation to prevent social media websites like Facebook from collecting data from every website you visit) and especially using sandbox concepts to prevent malicious code and downloads directly from the browser.

I would love to know if there are already solutions like this.

  • Are you asking if different tabs or windows could be served from different containers? Did you know that you could use transparent VMs to serve entire browsers? – schroeder Jul 2 '18 at 9:40

Some browsers already use very strict sandboxing between tabs (or groups of tabs), for example Chrome/Chromium. The sandboxing they use is significantly tighter and more secure than Docker (which is not designed for sandboxing and has many security issues). – forest Jul 3 '18 at 7:32
