I'm new to information security, so please kindly forgive me if I get some data wrong and feel free to correct me!
My understanding of a VPN is that it is a secure encrypted channel that essentially redirects your network traffic through a different network to the one of your ISP. So therefore your ISP does not know what you are getting up to? But my question is, how do you know if the VPN are not spying on you? Sure they say we use
AES-CBC-256 for example but then what if they can see it? Do they use public key encryptions?
Also, what is the best VPN to get? I have like 8 devices and like I heard ExpressVPN are the best in the game. But they are only restricted to 3 licenses.
Any help, greatly appreciated.
