Account information of the chinese WeChat service can be used to authenticate on other websites/services (like discussion forums) by the OAuth protocol. Since WeChat plays a major role in surveillance done by the chinese government, the question arises, what are the implications of using WeChat as an OAuth provider regarding security and privacy issues? In question "Is using OAuth2 services like Google or Facebook Single Sign-On a privacy concern?" it's not quite clear to me what kind of surveillance would be technically possible.
