The snapshot is about syn-cookie technology:

How to understand the Server' and Client' in this snapshot?

Whether the Client':SYN is the second time initial SYN of Client? or is Client's first time SYN stored in syn-cookie?

  • Also, this is not looking like a security issue. – schroeder Mar 26 at 14:49
  • @schroeder I have updated my post, please check it. – aircraft Mar 26 at 17:16
  • SYN-Cookie technology is a solution of SYN Flood attack, it is about security issue. – aircraft Mar 26 at 17:17
  • Thanks for the context. Your question is not about syn-cookies or even about DoS protection. You want us to interpret this one diagram. This is all explained in the text. The Red boxes are the cookie storage. The yellow areas are the "special data areas", or where TCP data is normally stored. This is just basic TCP. – schroeder Mar 26 at 17:24
