I'm able to change the routing table of my router (Huawei) by sending it fake ARP responses but I'm unable to change the ARP table on the node connected to that router if I pretend to be the gateway.

The router only blocks those packets in which I say "gateway is at my MAC". if I pretend to be someone else other then the gateway, router forward my packet, so I assume the router doesn't forward IP packet which binds gateway IP with someone's else MAC as a security mechanism (?).

If yes, what are some other techniques in which this security mechanism can be bypass?
