Suppose an attacker collects a large number of initial sequence numbers sent by the server. Can the attacker cause the server to create many fully open connections by sending ACKs with those initial sequence numbers? Why?

  • Please fix your title, otherwise this looks like a duplicate. There are randomization efforts included nowadays and I think even nmap shows the approx. likelihood of hitting the sequence numbers yourself (often extremely unlikely). May 9 at 19:34
