What is the point of gibberish spam
(It's unlikely that they're trying to "curry favor" with the spam filter, as the thing ("Mollom") is notoriously flaky and happily lets spam through on the first try while rejecting legitimate posts.) … spam is actually intending to do this, and is instigated by someone (a competitor?) …

Odd spam in a forum
In the forum http://forums.finehomebuilding.com/breaktime/ (same forum that was one of the subjects of this thread) we're seeing a lot of "spam" of a curious sort. … (I suppose some might think that such posts will "trick" the spam blocker into accepting the user, but, honestly, the Mollom spam blocking software is so crummy that this isn't necessary.) …
