Im in a situation where Im moving between apartments and need to live at an extended stay hotel for a week or two.

The hotel does have free WiFi but it is public. If I use my company’s VPN and visit safe / reliable websites that use HTTPS will I still be safe?

If not, what are my best alternatives? I’m thinking about using my iPhone as a hot spot for the time being as well.

    "will I still be safe" - Depends on what exactly you expect from "safe". The VPN itself will only protect you from traffic interception and modification by the hotel WiFi - that's all. A VPN will not offer protection against bad websites. There might be additional protection offered by your companies firewall etc, but that's not part of the VPN anymore.
